Patient and Family Resource Centre

Patient and Family Resource Centre Now Open Infographic Banner (c) CCMB

CancerCare Manitoba has a Patient and Family Resource Centre that is a quiet place for patients and families to relax and find information about cancer, treatments and support services.

The centre provides you with a broad selection of pamphlets, booklets, magazines, and newsletters free of charge, as well as a lending library of books, CDs and DVDs on cancer types and cancer-related topics.

We also have information on support services and programs such as counselling, support groups, home care, and many other professional and community resources.

If you can’t visit the centre, you can call us at 204-787-4357 if you live in Winnipeg or toll-free at 1-866-561-1026 and ask for the Patient and Family Resource Centre.

Information can be given to you over the phone or mailed to your home. Let us know what would be easier for you.

We welcome you to visit the resource centre to meet our coordinator and volunteers who can assist you.

The centre is located on the main floor - follow the glass wall corridor.

Lending Library

CancerCare Manitoba Patient and Family Library resources are available to residents of the province of Manitoba and to those patients and families of CancerCare Manitoba who may live outside the province of Manitoba.

New Digital Library

Patients and families can now explore books, resources, supports and upcoming events using our new digital library.

Patients and families can search for:

  • books and topics
  • popular picks and new additions
  • information on coping, emotional well-being, cooking and nutrition, specific cancers, survivor stories, caregiving, and much more!
  • contact information for community resources and support groups
  • upcoming cancer information and education sessions

Library resources are available at the McDermot site and there is a small collection at the Victoria Hospital site. Cancer information is also offered at the St. Boniface and Grace Hospital oncology programs and Community Cancer Programs.
