2024 Virtual Patient and Family Conference - November 29 & 30, 2024

Patients and their families living with cancer often try to make many decisions and navigate the cancer care system.

Up-to-date information can help with understanding cancer and treatment, as well as making decisions about cancer care.

The Hope and Healing Program of CancerCare Manitoba will be hosting its second conference for patients and families who are living with cancer.

Friday, November 29 - Conference Opening and Keynote Speaker (5:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.) 

“If it were easy, we'd all be doing it”...the value of exercise, and how to get more of it. 

Dr. Culos-Reed is a Professor of Health and Exercise Psychology in the Faculty of Kinesiology. Her research enhances the quality of life for individuals living with and beyond cancer by developing and evaluating physical activity programs to address their physical and psychological challenges.

She collaborates nationally and internationally, working with diverse populations, including those with advanced cancer, to bring exercise oncology programs to underserved rural and remote communities across Canada.

As the co-founder of Thrive Health, an online educational platform, Dr. Culos-Reed empowers health and fitness professionals to deliver safe and effective exercise oncology resources. She is passionate about supporting individuals with cancer to live well and stay active.

Saturday, November 30 - Education Program (8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) 
An all-day education program that offers an opportunity to learn, connect and share. 

  • Experts will information on a range of topics such as fitness, nutrition, treatment, the emotional impact of cancer and much more.
  • A patient panel will share their experiences with cancer.
  • A Virtual Exhibit with helpful resources and support program information.

Join for one or both days and attend a few or all the sessions. This conference will be virtual, and registration is free.
