CancerCare Manitoba Foundation

All funds raised and donated to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation remain in Manitoba. These funds support an internationally-recognized team of health professionals at CancerCare Manitoba who provide outstanding care for patients and their families.

The Foundation’s mission, in partnership with donors, is to support CancerCare’s strategic priorities. Thanks to the generosity of many donors, CancerCare Manitoba Foundation has been able to grant more than $208 million since 2000. This support to CancerCare Manitoba profoundly impacts patient outcomes.

CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is the only charitable organization exclusively fundraising for CancerCare Manitoba.

A lasting impact for Manitobans

In 2023, all Manitobans received a gift from the Paul Albrechtsen Foundation: a $27 million donation in support of the work happening at CancerCare Manitoba.

This will transform cancer care in our province, inspire people and push research forward, ultimately leading to better outcomes and more hope for Manitobans affected by cancer and their loved ones.

The synergy between donor generosity and cancer research in Manitoba

Through the support of donor generosity, remarkable progress has been made in advancing cancer research at the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute CancerCare Manitoba.

Donations to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation travel through the CancerCare Manitoba building in Winnipeg to the Research Institute where they transform into life-changing breakthroughs created by local scientists and researchers.

This bench to bedside roadmap is unique to CancerCare Manitoba offering patients and their families who visit CancerCare Manitoba, the best possible care.

Shine a Light

Shine a Light in memory, in honour or in gratitude for that special person in your life. Their light will shine throughout December helping and inspiring Manitobans affected by cancer.

This December a light display will once again inspire, encourage, and uplift those touched by cancer while raising funds in support of CancerCare Manitoba.

1,250 white lights will light up the stairwell at the CancerCare Manitoba building at 675 McDermot, representing those we cherish in memory, honour today, and for the people providing care along the way. The lights will officially be turned on December 2nd at 5:00 p.m. during a special outdoor lighting ceremony. Each day they will shine from dusk until midnight.
