CancerCare Manitoba has an international reputation for research excellence, collaborating with and attracting scientists from all over the world.
Through the Research Institute of Oncology and Hematology (RIOH) - a joint institute of CancerCare Manitoba and the University of Manitoba, and through other departments such as the Department of Preventative Oncology and Epidemiology, scientists continue to explore such complex topics of as the molecular origins of cancer, the regulation of gene activity, control of cell movement, cancer risk factors and cancer chemotherapies.
Our commitment to unlocking the mysteries of the complicated world of cancer is articulated in our mission statement, and is a daily focus of many CancerCare Manitoba programs and services. Our research activities focus on key areas such as prevention, early diagnosis, patient care and palliative care.
